The Wedding Singer

When you think of a wedding singer what do you think of?? I think of a fat old guy singing to songs that no one really knows, but that is not what I got when I went to see The Wedding Singer at Layton high school. Instead I got to see a very good looking boy, who can actually sing! Going to this musical was just another thing that made me excited to go to high school. The music was awesome, the characters were well casted, the costumes were amazing, and I just wanted to keep going back. When I went the first time, and yes I went more than once, it completely blew me away. I’ve seen tons of musicals but this one was just awesome, everything was ten times better than I had expected. My Favorite part was the dance to Saturday Night in the City, Tara Smith was amazing at her part! In the end of the dance she gets water poured all over her from the ceiling, remind you of any movie?? Flash Dance perhaps?? It was so fun sitting with the parents who lived through the 80’s, they knew every inside joke about bands, and all the references to songs. It was interesting to see their “put” on the characters, and who they were representing. When I went the second time, I really noticed things I hadn’t before; like the way the actors acted off stage. Some of the kids in the play I’ve known for a long time, and to see them have so much fun in the play, and recommend being in one to almost all of their friends is really cool. It shows how many people really do care for theatre. Mr. Ferrin has done an amazing job, once again, on gathering such an amazing cast, for a really fun play.

  1. Just admit you only had fun because you went with Chase and I for the first time! But I do have to admit I quite enjoyed it!
